Dr. Woods Baby Mild Castile Soap (Bar)

Dr. Woods Naturally Bar Soap Baby Mild Unscented - 5.25 oz

I am really impressed by this bar soap! :-)

  • Excellent ingredient list (almost all organic). And what we use on our skin IS absorbed into the body. It is so important to check those ingredient lists!
  • Generous sized bar (5.25 oz).
  • Triple milled so it doesn't melt down too quickly in the soap dish like so many other natural bar soaps.
  • Leaves skin clean but it's not drying.
  • Great price (less than $5 at most stores/sites) especially considering the quality of ingredients and the size of the bar.
  • I use this soap for removing make-up, including mascara and it works fine. Really cleans in spite of it being mild enough for babies.
  • Cruelty-free.
  • Unscented ( I really appreciate that). Ideal for sensitive skin (and noses)! ;-)
  • 100% vegan.
  • Contains NO paraben, phthalates, SLS's, petroleum.
  • Made with Fair Trade ingredients
  • Packed in a simple paper box (no plastic) so it's easy to recycle.

Dr. Woods Baby Mild Castile Soap is my new "go to" soap for facial and body cleansing.

I've been looking for a really good bar soap for a LONG time and I've finally found one I am happy with, for so many reasons.

Dr. Woods also makes a variety of other products including liquid soaps, skin- lightening soaps, scented can read more at the company's website.

Overall rating for this product: Excellent. 5 out of 5.

  1. Geraldine, what a SUPER review on what sounds like an AWESOME product! I've not used this particular brand of castile soap, however, I have used Dr. Bonner's Castile soap (bar and liquid) and love them!

I will definitely be checking out the links you shared to find out more about it.

Thanks, my friend. And have a fantastic weekend!

    1. Thanks for your very kind words Ron!

This is the best bar soap I've tried to date and I have also tried Dr. Bonner's which I DID like too but it just denigrates too fast, for my liking. Having the soap milled really helps with that issue and this one from Dr. Woods is triple milled.

Let me know if you give it a try. I'm sure you could find it locally and it's also available online at Amazon, iHerbs and many other sites.

And a super weekend back to you! G

  2. I have never heard of this before, but I search for it on Amazon. It sounds like it would suit my sensitive skin.
I have been using Dove extra sensitive soap, and haven't yet found anything else that doesn't cause irritation.

Many thanks for introducing this one to me, Geraldine!
    And have a fabulous weekend.

    Big Hugs xoxoxo

    1. This is wonderful soap Ygraine and without any bad ingredients like the mainstream brands have. I think you'd like it a lot. Available at iHerbs, Amazon and I'm sure in stores in the US too.

And a fab weekend back to you. Hope things continue to get better for you and your family. Take care, G

  3. Thanks Geraldine..I am definitely going to tell my granddaughter about this product for our four month old great granddaughter...
    Great review~

    1. Thanks Jan.

Good for babies AND adults too. This is a good basic soap bar that everyone can benefit from.

  4. nice to hear about this soap. organic is important to me too. lovely 2016 to you!

    1. I've been transitioning to more and more organics, especially in the past few years. I think it's so important, not just for food but for other products like soaps, personal care items...and thankfully, the prices are getting better all the time too, for more organics. What we eat AND what we use on our skin has a big long term impact on our health. I'm glad I found out about this soap, it's a keeper! ;-)

I hope you have a great year too Tammie, nice to see you hear again. G

  5. Excellent review.

I've used a lot of different bar soaps and this is by far the best. It cleans well, has no scent, very mild, long lasting, good price and simple packaging.

    1. I totally agree Joe. What's not to love about this soap? ;-)

  6. Your review makes me want some. I'm wondering if Whole Foods might carry it ... I can look on line for it. i really liked this review because it's a good reminder not to put crap on my skin because it is absorbed in.

    1. Hi Sandy, If you click the link in my review, it will take you to this soap's product page at Amazon. It is also available at iHerbs, i company I also order from quite a bit. Let me know if you give it a try. And yes, a lot of the soap on the market IS "crap"!!!
